Kava & Clay

Kava is a plant that is found in the South Pacific such as Hawaii, Tongan, Fiji & Samoa. It is family to the black pepper plant. For thousands of years the elders of these islands would hold a ceremonial meeting and harvest the root, brew it, and would drink the kava brew out of their coconut bowls. They found that after they consumed kava brew, they were more relaxed and found it easier to talk and be more solution oriented. Once kava made its way to America. Researchers tested the root and found that it has alkaloids (Kavalactones)that relax the muscle fibers in your body, sort of like a massage. It also helps to balance the enzymes in your brain, specifically the P38 enzyme which encourages cognitive function and a sense of social wellbeing.

A key thing to know is that kava has a reverse tolerance. This means that as you drink kava, it will take less and less to feel more and more from the brew.
